take a look at Italian manufacturing exports data
30/03/2026
Since 2015, Italian manufacturing exports have grown by 23.8%, outperforming its main European competitors.
According to data from our Research Center, foreign sales of Italian manufactured goods recorded an overall growth of 23.8% between 2015 and 2024 (equal to +2.4% per year at constant prices), significantly outperforming some of its main European competitors.
Italy's growth is proceeding at a similar pace to that of Spain (+2.5% annually), despite differing production specializations.
However, the real gap emerges when compared with Germany (+1.1%) and France (+0.8%), which are still at close to pre-Covid levels.
In this scenario, Italy has demonstrated impressive resilience to the global shocks of recent years.
Several factors have supported this positive trend.
On a structural level, the diversification of Italian manufacturing has allowed companies to rapidly reorient flows and markets, reacting better than their European partners to shocks in global supply chains.
But the most significant element emerges from the qualitative analysis: the outperformance of Italian manufacturing exports over the last decade appears to be linked primarily to quality components, which, at the same price, make Italian products more attractive and sought-after in international markets.
The ability to compete on quality, not just price, represents the true competitive advantage of Made in Italy in global markets.
