Leonardo, the fourth most powerful super computer in the world, officially debuts

A few days ago has officially been inaugurated Leonardo, the super computer which is in Bologna at Tecnopolo. It is the fourth most powerful super computer in the world intended for research projects, scientific and academic use as well as industrial applications. With this new “colossus”, the Technopole is increasingly confirmed as a real science citadel. Nearly half of the power generated by Leonardo will be available to Italian research institutes and universities as well as to European researchers. The applications of this new “genius” are several, from renewable energy to personalised medicine.
