Ravenna bets on the automotive industry

The port of Ravenna has managed to carve out a role in automotive logistics with the creation of a dedicated joint venture between Sapir, the port's main terminal group, and Ars Altmann, a German company specialized in the transport and handling of finished vehicles. The debut took place with a first train dedicated to the transport of BMWs for South Korea market, traffic that was previously handled by Northern European ways. Great satisfaction for this new traffic was expressed by the two partner companies, considering that till now the port of Ravenna had not played a major role in the traffic of finished vehicles, a situation that can change today thanks to this new collaboration.
