EIMA2021: agricultural machinery as "ecological sentinel"
14/10/2021
To protect the ecosystem, humans are no longer enough, machines are needed. A new generation of environmental experts, agronomic and forestry technicians is now working to reduce the impact of activities on the territory, but the leap in quality is only possible with the use of highly automated machines driven by artificial intelligence. The agricultural mechanics industry is now able to produce vehicles entirely governed by computers, cameras and sensors, capable of analyzing all environmental parameters and guaranteeing the calibrated use of water, respect for the organic substance of the land, scientific use of all production factors. While satellite systems read the terrain and map centimeter-accurate, fleets of drones record environmental data and monitor plants. Sophisticated computer systems independently manage the movements of the machines in the field, and the enormous flow of information collected is conveyed through the networks to specialized databases. With the worsening of the environmental emergency, a new model of agriculture is emerging, and with it mechanical and digital technology is growing rapidly. EIMA International - the world exhibition of agricultural mechanics held in Bologna from 19 to 23 October next - showcases the most advanced agromechanical solutions, intelligent means that are human allies in the defense of the planet.
Divided into 14 sectors of specialization, the exhibition also includes five thematic exhibitions, including EIMA Digital, dedicated to electronic, computer and satellite systems applied to agricultural machinery and equipment. The AEF, the international association of experts in digital systems applied to agriculture, is present in Bologna in an official capacity.
