Two-way ferries for Venice: there are three shipyards competing for supplying the Venice Lagoon for a 32.24 million order dedicated to the construction of the two hybrid ferries.
These are: Vittoria Naval Shipyard (CNV), Siman, and also the Spanish shipyard Astilleros Armon.
While the presence of the first two operators in this notice is not surprising, since Siman has already a contract for the construction of 12 motorboats for the Lagoon, while CNV will take care of the construction of two 400/H series units, it is instead something new the presence of the Iberian group in the Venetian fleet renewal program.
As a matter of fact, Astilleros Armon, supplier of Balearia and Liberty Lines among others, has lately shown a great deal of interest in Italian public procedures, having also taken part in a notice for two fast vessels to be used on the Strait of Messina, in addition to his interest in the Venice lagoon at this juncture.
