The prices of lithium battery cells continue to fall, both those intended for the electric mobility segment and those used in fixed storage and consumer electronics.
This was revealed by new data published by TrendForce, a consultancy and analysis platform based in Taipei.
According to the company, in August 2024 the drops recorded in raw material prices, which had already been decreasing in previous months, had a direct impact on the cell market. With monthly drops in the order of 4-6 percent.
In detail, the prices of battery cells for electric vehicles fell by approximately 4%, reaching 0.39 CNY/Wh ($0.055/Wh) in the case of square LFP (lithium iron phosphate) cells.
