New solar park in Ferrara area: after more than two years of work, from conception to construction, the new Malvezzi Fondazione Fornasini photovoltaic plant in Poggio Renatico (Ferrara) is finally ready. The solar park stands on a land of 22 hectares and consists of over 30,000 photovoltaic modules to produce about 25 GWh each year from solar sources, avoiding the emission of 11,000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere each year and replacing the use of 5.4 million cubic meters of gas with renewable energy produced locally. In addition to this plant in Poggio-Renatico, another 26 MW solar park is also under construction. It is a huge investment in renewable energy, of which the Emilia Romagna Region is absolutely proud.
