Renewable energy, hydrogen

Cruise ships are also changing.

And it will also be thanks to Italy, if we will soon see the first hydrogen cruise ship ever built in the world set sail.

The carrier will be used both for engine propulsion and to generate electricity.

The protagonists of this venture are Fincantieri and the English cruise company Viking, which will launch the Viking Libra at the end of 2026.

The ship will be built in the Ancona shipyards.

It will be 239 meters long, will weigh 54,300 tons and in its 499 cabins, it will be able to accommodate 998 people.

It is a cruise ship that falls into the small segment, but it is a very important start for the maritime transport sector.
