The future of robotics in agriculture
12/09/2022
FieldRobotics, a spin off of the University of Bologna, develops robotic systems for agriculture, focusing on precision agriculture and autonomous navigation in hostile environments; their work on the UGV, a small-sized rover that can perform many different operations in the agricultural field, is in an industrialization phase.
The company claims that roboticization and electrification are now an inevitable process for the agricultural world, bringing enormous advantages in terms of safety, stability and economic sustainability; in the future, endothermic systems will make room for electric ones as a matter of cost-effectiveness, environmental sustainability and reliability, decentralizing the motorization peripherally where necessary.
